- Ruhengeri and or Musanze.
This is a city in Rwanda that lies in the North western part of Rwanda. When in this city, you are at the entrance of the Volcanoes National Park which is not only home to the famed Mountain Gorillas but also to the Golden Monkeys as well. In Ruhengeri, you will have taken your first steps to seeing the Mountains Bisoke, Karisimbi, Sabinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura that all lie in the Virunga Massif.
The City of Ruhengeri also has the Musanze Caves that are so filled with bats. These can be found at the city’s suburbs and is surrounded by thick vegetation. The Lakes Ruhondo and Burera on the eastern side of Ruhengeri have scenery of lush hills surrounding them.
2 . Gisenyi.
It is a town on the northern shores of Lake Kivu in the North western part of Rwanda in a district called Rubavu. This town is covered by a number of beach resorts that line up in the sandy harbor of the lake. Kayaking is a common activity here and this can be told from the many kayaks that can be seen plying the clear waters of Lake Kivu. To the east of Gisenyi is a park; Gishwati Mukura National Park, a rainforest that is known to have monkeys and Chimpanzees.
After Gisenyi the Congo Nile trail lakeside storms through the mountainous terrain and passes across coffee farms, villages and waterfalls.
- Kigali City.
This is the capital city of this “Land of a Thousand Hills” and it is known to have a vibrant nightlife and lively restaurants. Kigali is a very clean city whose environment is welcoming and it has quite a number of things that would catch your eye from museums, palaces, markets, churches, art galleries and memorial sites. These include the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, the Nyanza Genocide Memorial, the Presidential Palace Museum, the Sainte Famile Church and the Inema Arts Center among others.
This city that was known before as Shangugu is the capital of Rusizi District which lies in the western part of Rwanda. Cyanungu is located at the southern side of the Lake Kivu and is communicable with the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Bukavu however it is divided by River Ruzizi. This city is near the Nyungwe Forest National Park that is s famous for having the largest number of Chimpanzees in Africa.
